In the spring of 2014 Stefan was recommended to me by a neighbor. I was renovating a house in Rockland that included a variety of projects over four floors. The work involved framing, hanging drywall, installing doors, installing window casing, assembling and installing kitchen cabinets, tiling, patching hardwood floors and a variety of other projects.
The following summer, in 2015, we were completing a suite on the lower floor. Stefan and Chris returned to complete that part of the renovation work as well. I was and still am impressed by the quality of the work and the efficiency in which it was completed.
Stefan and Chris both are highly skilled carpenters and tradesmen. They arrived on time, worked independently and efficiently. At the end of each work day, they reviewed what was accomplished that day and set a plan for the next. And they ended each work day with a clean worksite with their tools stored.
During the past few decades I have benefited from the work of various trades people both in Vancouver and Victoria. I would rank Stefan and Chris as the best I have worked with.

In the spring of 2014 my wife and I chose Stefan Roodbol of Remove and Renew Contracting, (now known as Refind Builders Inc.), to remove and recycle the existing back deck and sliding glass door, construct a new deck and install two French Doors. In addition, we required them to remove the existing window on the south wall of our sun room, open up this wall and install a larger character window in our 1935 house. This work was done under permit; consequently it was inspected by the Oak Bay building inspector.
Stefan and his assistants were always courteous and quiet. I’ve overheard other work crews at neighbouring houses who are loud and often use offensive language. I never had to worry about these poor working manners from Stefan or his assistants. Because of their work ethics, pleasant dispositions, willingness to accommodate our schedule and their ability to complete the construction on time and on budget, I have no hesitation in recommending Stefan to you.

Shout out to Refind Builders for their exceptional work in dealing with rot on the bottom of our house, organizing stucco repairs, and installation of new stairs and railing. They made what started out as a stressful situation that much easier with their trustworthy work ethic! We have used this company previously for building our back deck, our bathroom heated tile floor, and all of our exterior doors. Highly recommend this family run business!!!

We are more than happy with the service provided with Stefan and his Company, Refind Builders. He really went above and beyond the call. As we were travelling during the first half he kept us informed and sent pictures of our total kitchen renovation. He and his crew are courteous kind and caring. He came in on time and under budget.

Stefan did a substantial renovation for us about 3 years ago which included a complete kitchen gut and rebuild, remodeling 2 bathrooms, new flooring, refinishing fireplaces, upgrading electrical and structural issues to meet code, etc.
We were very pleased with the quality of his team’s work, his pricing and his commitment to excellence and meeting our expectations/requirements. Moving forward a few years, shortly before this Christmas (2018) we noticed under the counter mounted sink which part of the renovation was separating from the counter top and we phoned him to see if he could fix it or recommend somebody that could. Stefan came personally and fixed it within a few days at no cost, at this very busy time of year.
What can we say we were truly impressed and appreciative; his action is a clear demonstration of how he stands behind his work. Needless to say we will continue to recommend him to any of our friends or aquatints that are looking for a first-rate contractor,

He provided his time and cost estimates promptly and if there were any changes he communicated them quickly. From the first conversation to the final conversation, and then the 12 other conversations toward iterative additional improvements after that — doing business with Stefan and his team was the easiest part of renovating our residence. Stefan and the team always asked first, explained during, and reviewed afterward. We had his team build an addition to our family home while we were living, parenting and working in it. At the time, my pregnant wife, who works from home, was able to carry on her busy schedule without any disruptions while Stefan and the team were hard at work, literally putting a new roof over our heads. Whenever there were choices to make regarding budget alternatives, Stefan communicated clearly and respectfully with us, straight-up and in a straight-forward manner – which was very appreciated.
